Orangeries

A truly stunning way to create extra space in your home.

Add an elegant touch with an orangery

Orangery style conservatories are massively rising in popularity in the UK, achieving the open and bright feel of a conservatory while maintaining the feel of your home rather than an extension. An orangery is a brick-built extension to your home, with the key feature being extra-large windows and a flat roof with a roof lantern.

An orangery is effectively a conservatory with a twist, a conservatory is made of mostly glass, with a brick built base and uPVC frames. Generally, an orangeries’ windows cover up to 50% of the walls, both can serve the same purpose – but they are two different types of extension / buildings.

The orangeries’ layout allows for things like down lights, better energy efficiency and a more permanent feel. As with conservatories, there can be planning or structural considerations, as such, we always recommend you get in touch with one of the team here at Midland Dual Glaze so we can advise you on what orangery is best for you.
